The music video : Musajja Watu – King Saha & Akay

video

I can’t figure out what makes this video magical. Could it be that Akay comes on with the full force and emotions on display as he sings about a one Samira? Could it be that Akay and King Saha seem to connect greatly on the screen? Or could it be that intentional camera movement that creates this illusion of change in angles and keeps the eyes glued? May be, it’s a combination of all those factors.

The most impressive aspect of this music video is the courage of the video director, that courage that pushes him to experiment with camera movements, randomly rotating it from left to right, doing those awesome premeditated shaky camera shots.
Speaking of the location, they gave it their all, choosing a well-furnished apartment, with a clear view of the other world, as the sunlight strikes through the gigantic windows. And choosing to combine all this with the colour of purity (white) for the costumes, and the bed sheets enhances the storyline.
The video director knows it’s Akay who wants to send home the message to his ex, so he lets him play the role of the guy with this pure, angelic love, but he doesn’t ignore King Saha, he gives him the same portion of this role, and lets him cry over the same girl who’s causing both parties distress.
Talking of subtle visual messages, the video surely sends them out in their much needed form. For example, the phonecall that came in had “boda guy” as the caller name, and this seems to hit at Weasal who is now engaged to Samira, in a very indirect way. It’s one of those great videos that resurrect musical beef, one that should be watched by Samira Tura, who is the heart of the matter. Seems hearts too, are Team No Sleep, they never heal.
