Now Dick Katende is happy and expecting positive results from the seven-day course that he attended in Siracusa at the end of last month.
The veteran coach acknowledges the Aiba Pro course was a worthwhile venture that has equipped him with more skills and dynamics of handling amateur and professional boxers.
“I’m now well-armed to handle national boxers on amateur and professional levels,” Katende told Daily Monitor at Lugogo yesterday.
Under this new Aiba Pro/WSB arrangement,Ugandan boxers have an opportunity to turn professional and vie for continental and world titles meanwhile remaining under the patronage of their national federation throughout their career.
