Chameleone officially announced the arrival of his son on the music scene on his Facebook wall early this week. “New single! Launching #Abba Marcus a.k.a. T-Rex on the loose!! “Game Over,” Chameleone wrote, also posting a Youtube link to his son’s song.
The singer has for years been nurturing his son to join the music industry. Abba started by playing the guitar before he took saxophone and piano lessons. Although Daniela, Abba’s mother was against having their son perform before he clocks 10, last year, Abba dropped a few rap lines and even played the guitar at Chameleone’s previous two concerts.
Abba will not only face competition from his father but also his uncles, Weasel, AK47, and Pallaso. But it might not be competition as such because Abba does hip hop so it’s the likes of Navio and GNL who should get scared.
Meanwhile, as the son joins the industry, he has contributed so much to, rumour has it that Chameleone recently signed into the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK).
Chameleone, who is the other foreign artiste besides Tanzania’s Diamond, set to grace the upcoming MCSK awards ceremony. Speaking to Kenyan media outlet MondayBlues, Maurice Okoth, the MCSK CEO, said the foreign stars that are gracing the awards this year, “showed interest to register as MCSK members.”
The annual glitz ceremony that celebrates Kenyan artistes and the other players in the entertainment sector, will be broadcast live on KTN.
