Having studied public relations, Hafsa decided to open up her own PR company.
What is the name of your company?
It’s called Whispers PR firm.
When did you start this company?
I started it two months ago. I was still “sketching” for money all along.
What services does Whispers PR firm offer?
We are a public relations firm that deals in media relations, social media marketing, publicity for events, crisis communications, new product launch, entertainment and internal communications.
Why did you decide to go for a public relations company?
I did a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations at Cavendish University in 2013, so I decided to open up my own firm instead of looking for a job.
What companies have you offered your services to?
I have done some work for Mukram Holdings, Salabed Cargo and Shipping, Platinum Media and Team UOT (Ugandans On Twitter), among others.
Why would someone trust you to represent them in this field?
We are real, unique, genuine and honest.
What are some of the challenges you face in this business?
There is need for PR agencies to position themselves strongly as the lead resource in helping clients embrace the business we do. And because of many fraudsters masquerading as PR people, some companies don’t trust us to represent them on big stages.
How does the future look like for Whispers PR Company?
We have an ice cream festival happening soon on September 27 at the Bay in Munyonyo, which will bring all ice cream makers in one place. There will also be fun activities like ice cream eating competitions, sack and egg racing, face painting, bouncing castles for the children and lots of prizes to be won.
How can someone get to you?
