How many tracks do you both have so far?
We have five and more are still coming your way.

What name are you planning to use as a duo since the Team No Sleep name is used by everyone in your group including Sheeba, Pallaso and Lydia Jasmine?
Apparently none, we retained our names AK and Bakri. We are more focused on making more music, so we haven’t thought of a name.

What direction is your music taking as AK47 and Bakri?
So far everything has been moving according to plan, though some people have failed to understand the fact that Uganda can have more than one singing duo, which shouldn’t be the case. Before Radio and Weasel, we had Mega Dee and Menton Krono, Benon and Vampos, and other duos.

Why did you decide to be signed under Jeff Kiwanuka’s Team No Sleep yet you heard about what went on between him and the Goodlyfe duo of Radio and Weasel that he used to manage?
A lot of things happened but then let’s not forget the positives. Jeff groomed the Goodlyfe guys from scratch to the top, and I think every artiste would like to work with a proper manager like Jeff.

This goes to AK. Why did you leave your big brother Jose Chameleone’s Leone Island?
Leone Island had very many artistes with one manager, so it wasn’t easy for him to balance his work among all of us. I decided to have one manager who would concentrate on only two artistes and it is working out now.

What are your expectations from Jeff as AK47 and Bakri?
In life, it’s always advisable to expect less in order to achieve more.

What is your strategy to get to the top?
Our plan is to stay focused, determined and know what to do at the right time.

AK, what do you think of Bakri?
He is talented, outgoing and friendly.

Bakri, any words for AK?
He is modest, generous and talented as well.

Why do you think Team No Sleep is the best?
There is proper management, vision and discipline.

Aren’t you going to release solo projects anymore?
We sing to please our fans, so if the time comes and they ask us to, then we will do that, but it hasn’t crossed our minds yet. We want to first make a mark as a duo.

What do you call your style of music?
Nothing. We have no permanent style, versatility is what we are surviving on now.

Where do you see AK and Bakri in five years?
On top of the game of course and raising the Ugandan flag worldwide.
