Since Mavado was the headliner of the show, Chris Martin was allegedly waiting for a call to board the next plane to Uganda. And that call finally came from another promoter, by the name of David Kibuuka of One Nation Entertainment Promotions.
Kibuuka who is working closely with promoter Balaam Baruhagare, told us that he has already signed a contract with Chris Martin and all is set for a concert on September 5. And since most venues around town are in KCCA’s bad books, Kibuuka told us that the show will be held at Freedom City Mall, along Entebbe Road.
“I have a performance agreement signed by Chris Martin. I also have a voice assurance. He cost me about $60,000 (about Shs 150m), including air tickets. He said he is coming with Cecile,” Kibuuka told us. Revellers will have to part with 20k to the ordinary section and 50k for VIP seats.
