Hustler : Michael Ssuuna Kaddu

What is the name of your studio and when did you open it up?
My studio is called Lovipix and I started it at the end of 2010.

What is key in this business?
Customer care, time management, marketing and quality work.

What do you go by when dealing with clients?
Our motto is “Reflection of memories”. We keep the memories alive.

Where is this studio located?
We are situated in Najjanankumbi on Entebbe Road near Shell Kaazi (Mirambi).

Why did you choose that place?
We chose this place because town is congested, and besides, rent here is affordable and we have ready market for our services.

At Lovipix, what do you mainly deal in?
We deal in photography and videography. We take pictures in every size, colour and quantity for every occasion and then in videography, we record every occasion however short or long.

What were you doing previously before starting up this studio?
I have done a lot of jobs before. I was once a model, then an actor, did some little music, worked at a certain studio along Martin Road and was also a dancer before I went to Qatar and worked for a company called Qatar 2022 as the assistant graphics designer.

How much do you charge for the services offered at Lovipix?
It depends on the nature of the job. For example, standard photos range from Shs2,000 all the way up to Shs230,000 depending on the size. Wedding photos range from Shs150,000 to Shs650,000. Photo book albums start from Shs950,000 to Shs1,900,000.

What made you go into this business?
The love for art and the experience I have in this kind of work.

What challenges are you facing in this business?
Clients taking long to pay for services offered and also delaying to pick their work, which fills up our archiving space.
