The comedian returned from South Africa on Wednesday after spending six days in Madibaland. And this time round, Salvado didn’t not go for a comedy show, but rather to shoot an advert for DStv.
Salvado got the deal through a South African booking company called Podium, “the comedy merchants” that he is signed too.
“That is the company that is responsible for the success of top comedians like Trevor Noah, Loyiso Gola and many more. So I also signed a deal with them sometime last year and that’s how I landed the DStv gig.”
Salvado told us that the advert is a DStv Africa campaign against paying for bad TV.
“It’s going to show in all countries outside South Africa. I flew here last Thursday and started shooting on Sunday. The last shoot is on Wednesday,” Salvado told us.
But away from the deal, Salvado was amazed by the quality of production he experienced on the shoot; “I had never seen such studios, the cameras and the level of organisation was simply mind boggling!”
