A few years ago when singer Bebe Cool’s show had sound glitches, he piled blame on Silk Events. Bebe threatened to fly in his own sound system that he would use for all his events. Unfortunately, he only managed to fly in equipment for his Gagamel band. To date, Bebe still runs to Silk Events for all his big concerts.
But just like a chameleon, the animal he gets his stage name from, that does not make any sound when it’s changing colour, singer Jose Chameleone might as well have learnt to do certain things without shouting about them.
Such is exactly what happened when he shipped in his outdoor events public address system.
According to an insider in Leone Island, Chameleone placed his order for the outdoor PA sometime last year in China. The singer is said to have received the first batch of the consignment in December. “It’s Chameleone’s machines that were used for the Sheraton New Year’s Eve concert,” the source told us.
And a few weeks ago, the last consignment arrived and this is when Chameleone made a post on his Facebook wall.
Speaking to Sqoop from South Africa where he is currently shooting music videos for his new songs, Chameleone told us he has so far spent about Shs200m on the PA system. “I ordered for sound, a stage and lights. I am going full blast into the events world,” Chameleone told us.
The singer told us he will unveil the machines at his album launch concert that is due on March 28. Chameleone told us that he is still consulting his wife to come up with a suitable name for their new investment. Our source told us that the singer hired an expert from Kenya who is taking care of the equipment that is being kept at Chameleone’s Sseguku house.
