Singer Jose Chameleone is known to be the first artiste to set a date for his album launch every year. And turns out 2014 isn’t an exception. The singer over the weekend set March 28 as the day he will officially release his Tubonge album. But while we await details of the album launch, we would like to announce that Chameleone started off 2014 as a free man.
It should be noted that Chameleone spent a good part of early last year worrying about being connected to the death of Stephen Karamagi, a man that allegedly set himself ablaze at the singer’s Seguku home and died a few days later at Mulago hospital.
Chameleone denied any wrong doing saying that Karamagi had trespassed into his compound with petrol and he torched himself before anybody could touch him.
Speaking to Sqoop earlier this week, the Director of Public Prosecutions spokesperson, Ms Jane Kajugo said that all the evidence gathered for the case was contradicting and inconsistent.
“We re-evaluated all the evidence, but it’s contradicting and inconsistent. We have not found any evidence and therefore we directed the police to close the file,” Ms Kajugo told us.
Efforts to reach Chameleone for a comment were futile as his phones went unanswered for three days.
