Honestly we have seen worse, our homemade sex tapes, nude photos and extremely explicit series like Caligula. Is the anti-pornography bill already being implemented before it’s even passed into law? Yes Parliament passed it but the president has yet to sign it.
Personally, I think the cinemas are the ones affected here since Media Council regulates the film content they show to ensure that they conform to the national values but they will not stop anyone from watching the movie.
So what makes this movie more explicit than the usual explicit movies we have watched before? The Wolf of Wall Street has too much sex, profanity, nudity, drugs, alcohol, a gay orgy, and Leonardo DiCaprio blowing cocaine up a woman’s bottom with a straw. And according to IMDb (world’s most popular source of movie content), the movie boasts a whopping 569 F-word utterances, prevalent drug use as well as masturbation. All the above do not certainly conform to our values. Perhaps the Media Council is right to ban this movie. But can they explain how they are going to implement this ban?

In fact, this ban has caused hype among movie lovers and non-enthusiasts alike, and by now, one can barely get a copy as they are selling out.
Talk of distribution, I can simply get the movie from whoever was sharp enough to grab it before me and copy it onto my laptop, which I’ll later burn to a CD and give to my friends and the distribution goes on and on.
So how does Media Council plan to stop the distribution of this movie? Is it going to prosecute me for copying it to my laptop and later burn it for my colleagues? I believe not.
So yeah, by the look of things, a blackout has been declared on our favourite actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Matthew McConaughey, and Jonah Hill. But I believe this only applies to the cinema goers, who will watch the
