The Abafirisuuti video storyline is clear from the onset. It’s about one man who makes chapattis being encouraged by Dr Hilderman to persist through the times, that one day, just like Hilderman, he will be able to hit his own pinnacle of success. It is set in two locations, a roadside setup where Hilderman meets his friend, the chapatti maker and the next location, is Aero beach where Hilderman goes ahead to offer his motivational works, encouraging him to stick in there.
I thought it would end with the Chapatti maker as a CEO with some plush mansion, but it doesn’t, the chapatti maker ends as a Chapatti maker as the two depart. This brings up some sort of unpredictability in the video. The chapatti guy must be commended for fitting his role, his jaws, his attire and all brought out a real picture of him as a chapatti maker. He even went with his frying pan and charcoal stove to the beach. The funny bits are the dance strokes Dr Hilderman pulls off lazily, annoyingly yet at the same time, comically in the video.
Speaking of flaws, there is nothing exciting about the video lighting and colouring. There are lots of shadows that blur some parts of the video, like the scenes at the chapatti stall. The camera is static. One gets a feeling that Hilderman simply wanted a video to accompany the audio as not much effort is put into creating a great memorable video.
It’s one of those videos that need to be redone.
