Last Tuesday singer, Jose Chameleone flew to Central African Republic. The singer signed a deal with the US Mission in Uganda to serve as music militant to deliver a message about peace to LRA rebel remnants in CAR.
Chameleone revealed that he is on a peace mission to convince the rebels to put down their weapons and return home. “I am simply a Ugandan calling upon my brothers in the LRA to come home. You are forgiven. It is time for peace.” Chameleone told us.
The singer even hit studio and recorded a song titled Come Home that has verses in English, Swahili and Acholi. According to Chameleone, the song will soften the hearts of LRA rebels in CAR so they put down their weapons and return home.
Chameleone said he released the song to the US Mission and he waiting for clearance to release it locally!
Chameleone who recently fractured his left foot and defied doctors’ orders to rest told us he is doing this for his country, but specially for his wife Daniela Atim and the Acholi community as a son-in-law in the Acholi land.
Meanwhile, over the weekend, Chameleone performed in the Southern Sudan town of Juba. However, Chameleone shocked his fans when he decided to fly to Juba with his four-year-old son and third-born Alfa Mayanja. The singer posted several photos of him and the son in Juba.
But we can as well say Chameleone’s energy and creativity has earned him not only fame but also a lot of wealth. Chameleone was on Monday named as the 10th richest artiste by a respectable US website.
