On Tuesday, singer Jose Chameleone flew to Central African Republic (CAR) where he will be staging a couple of shows and discussions this weekend. Chameleone who flew aboard a UN plane will be under the protection of UN forces. Chameleone will be in CAR on a humanitarian mission. The Badilisha singer entered into an agreement with UN and he will be preaching peace as well as entertaining the people of CAR. Before his departure, Chameleone was eager that he might meet LRA rebel leader Joseph Kony and talk to him about ending the rebellion.
But as Chameleone departed for an important mission, he might have forgotten all about his health. He flew to CAR with a fracture on his left leg. Although a tabloid had earlier indicated Chameleone’s legs had developed problems as a result of the infamous 2008 Tanzania alleged accident, Chameleone rubbished the rumours.
“….whosoever is telling lies about my health using my old accident pictures is chasing wind. Learn to tell the difference between a sprain and what you are confusing the world with. I strongly refute the allegations against me that am in terrifying conditions.”
“His feet got back into shape a long time ago, but this time round it’s just a simple fracture,” a doctor at Paragon Hospital who has been working on Chameleone told us. However, the doctor who requested anonymity concluded by saying that Chameleone had actually disobeyed his orders to rest. “I told him to rest the foot for at least a month, but he told me he had shows already booked up. He is currently walking on crutches,” the doctor told us.
It should be remembered that Chameleone got the moniker “Doctor” after he disobeyed doctors orders to rest until he recovered fully when he got the 2008 accident. Chameleone who then used to perform on a wheel chair said he was his best doctor because he knew how he felt, better than anyone else. The moniker went on to stick when he corrupted to “music doctor”. If Dr Chameleone says he is fine, who are we to say he isn’t?
