What’s your business?
G&G which stands for Gorgeous and Glamorous. We deal in ladies accessories like handbags, earrings, wallets, clutches, sandals and hair accessories.

How much do you sell your accessories?
Our bags go for Shs70,000 all the way up to Shs150,000, sandals cost between Shs35,000 and Shs60,000. We sell our earrings between Shs10,000 and Shs20,000 and hair accessories are from Shs5,000 to Shs10,000.

How much did you invest in G&G?
When the business was opened in 2006, I was still at campus so I’m in no position to mention how much my mum and sister invested.

Where do you buy your items?
We buy from various countries like UAE, UK and Thailand.

How much do you get on a good and bad day?
Because of different reasons, let’s skip that question.

What challenges you are facing doing this kind of business?
There is stiff competition in this business. Then there are tricky seasons, whereby expenses are high in some months yet the profits are low. Also, some clients have a bad attitude and are difficult to deal with. Lastly, rent, which keeps increasing every now and then.

What are the benefits you’ve gotten out of this business?
I have got more opportunities through this business, that is to say, my territory has increased. I have made more friends and expanded networks and of course looking after myself and family because of G&G.
