Bebe Cool to battle D’Banj in Zimbabwe

Bebe - Dbanj

We also thought that it was just a show where Bebe Cool will be sharing a stage with D’banj, but we were wrong. We can reliably reveal that Bebe Cool will be having a musical battle with one of Africa’s greatest musicians D’banj from Nigeria.

“It’s a battle and it’s the first of its kind on the African continental,” Bebe told us.

According to Zimbabwean media, Bebe Cool and D’Banj were voted by the people as the international artistes to perform at this year’s Summer Beer festival. The Summer Beer Festival is an annual event sponsored by Lion Lager and this time round will be held at the Glamis Arena on October 26.

Bebe Cool told us that he will be traveling with a 16-man crew. “It’s a serious battle where each of us will have their own band play. I will be traveling with my entire Gagamel Band and this is an opportunity to show Africa what live music stands for.”

The event which has been dubbed The Battle of Africa will see several other artistes like Oliver Mutukuzi, Winky D, King Shaddy and Guspy Warrior entertain.

According to a press report from Delta beverages, the makers of Lion Lager, “This year, the organisers did not choose the artistes, but the people of Zimbabwe voted for musicians they wanted to perform at the beer festival through programmes on local radio stations. D’banj and Bebe Cool had the highest votes so we decided to bring them to reward our loyal consumers!” We wish you the best Bebe, but stand warned, D’banj is not a joking subject!
