It’s that time of the year again when DStv and Channel O celebrate and award the best that the continent has to offer as far as music concerned.  Nominations for the 10th Annual Channel O Africa Music Awards were announced on Monday, revealing an open field in the race to claim Africa’s most prestigious music awards.

Nominees in the 14 categories include multiple double nods for more than 10 artistes, from east, west and southern Africa, reflecting the outpouring of world-class music videos on the continent over the past year.
The  annual event will be held on Saturday, November 30 at Walter Sisulu Square, in Kliptown Soweto, South Africa.

The list of nominees is also bursting with new faces, but not any new ones from Uganda as artistes who have been on this platform before like Mowzey and Radio attained two nominations for most gifted ragga/ dancehall as well as most gifted East African in which they face competition from our very own Navio as well as AY (Tanzania), plus P Unit  and Sauti Sol from Kenya.
Winners will be determined by public votes and it’s now up to fans to vote for their favourite. Voting commenced on Tuesday and will close at midnight on Thursday November 21.

According to the Channel O site, voting can be done on three different platforms – via sms:  artiste voting code to the number +2783142100415. You can also vote on the web and WAP at www.channelo.tv
