Her reign might have ended years ago but former Miss Uganda Dora Mwima is not about to stop extending her big heart to the underprivileged. Through her Dora Mwima Foundation, the former beauty queen and mother of one is set to hold a fundraising celebrity soccer tournament to raise funds for the children at the cancer institute.
The charity game will be headlined by former Cranes and Scottish team Hearts FC player, David Obua, who will share the pitch with singer Bebe Cool and other celebrities including comedians, TV personalities, socialites and musicians.
Those confirmed so far include comedians Salvado and Alex Muhangi, NTV’s Douglas Lwanga, Moses Golola, musicians Eddie Kenzo, Vampino, Maurice Kirya, Rabadaba, Tonix and Roger Mugisha.

The competition will also have a women’s team that will be led by Capital FM and Channel O’s Flavia Tumusiime, Brenda Nambi, Cindy, Fille, Hellen Lukoma, Lilian Mbabazi, Salma Nassanga (former Miss Uganda), as well as NTV’s Robin Kisti and Sheila Gashumba.
According to Mwima, the money collected from the event, “will help the paediatric oncology acquire drugs that will be given to the patients free of charge.” The event is slated for Saturday August 24 at Kampala Rugby Grounds Lugogo. Entrance to the event will be Shs5,000 and Shs20,000 for VIPs. Keep up the spirit Mwima!
