But the terrorists will not let them escape from the White House that easily, giving good room for action, which has won hearts of critics.

“White House Down is a fun summer action film that earns its cheesiness. A surprising human centre helps enhance the super dumb set pieces,” Slash Film critic Germain Lussier explained after a recent screening.

Fellow Slash Film reviewer Peter Sciretta was also impressed with Roland Emmerich’s thriller, calling it the “dumb fun popcorn flick of the summer.” He also stated it was Emmerich’s best effort since the 90s science fiction epic Independence Day.
German film director, screenwriter, and producer, Roland Emmerich is director of this film and a line-up of other successful movies like Independence Day, The Patriot, Stargate, The Day After Tomorrow and 2012.
