Last week we reported that the on and off Mavado concert was now slated for June 17, but the show’s sponsors, Uganda Breweries got back to us and said no date had been set yet. Despite the fact that the show was supposed to take place last year and had been moved to Easter though it didn’t take place, billboards announcing the show have not been brought down, showing UBL’s commitment to hold the show.
Meanwhile, we also received news that the man behind the show, Nigerian born Chinedu Ikoroha had been arrested. This was not in connection with the show as Cece Entertainment boss was athrown behind bars for allegedly assaulting a yet-to-be identified Eritrean national at Club Venom in Kabalagala.
We have since gathered that Chinedu and the Eritrean were allegedly fighting over a woman. The Eritrean sustained injuries. Chinedu first disappeared from Club Venom but was later arrested and was behind bars at Kabalagala Police Station for the rest of the weekend.
According to reliable sources, this was not the first time Chinedu was being involved in a fight over a woman. “He (Chinedu) fought socialite Richie Katts over former Miss Uganda, Salma Nassanga’s sister, Kumba Cisse.” Chinedu was released after compensating the Eritrean with an undisclosed sum of money.
