Comedy seems to be rising more than any other art in our potholed state. From Kings of Comedy, we had the Night of 1000 Laughs, a continental show that was staged in Uganda for the first time last year! Then came Africa’s battle of the funniest. This year, female comedians chipped in with Queens of Comedy, a show where top and upcoming female comedians go out to prove their might.

Kenneth Kimuli aka Pablo also launched the monthly- Pablo and the Continental Comedian show. This month’s edition was held yesterday at the Hub, at the Oasis Mall and it featured Uzonitsha Mandy, one of Nigeria’s best female comedians.
But on June 1, around the same time we had the Nite of 1000 laughs last year, the Krackers comedians are working around the clock to start their own continental comedy event dubbed Africa Laughs!

According to Krackers’ Alex Muhangi, “Africa laughs will be bigger than Nite if 1000 Laughs! We already confirmed Africa’s best comedians including Basket Mouth (Nigeria), Daliso from Malawi, Carl Ncube from Zimbabwe, Eric Omondi from Kenya and Uganda’s best Ugandan comedians! The show will be hosted by Pablo!”

Patrick Idringi aka Salvado added that the show will move to different African countries throughout the year!  “We are rolling Africa-wide and the sky is the limit,” said Slavado. The Africa Laughs comedy show will be launched in Kampala on June 1 at Imperial Royale Hotel.
