BUZZ AWARDS GO GEEKY

The Buzz Teeniez Awards (BTAs) is one of the biggest Teens’ events on the Ugandan entertainment calendar. The BTAs are back and they will be held on Saturday, May 11 at Kati Kati Grounds Lugogo.  The biggest attraction at the 2013 BTAs by far will be Lil Wayne’s official DJ, 4our5ive!

However, with just two weeks to the event, the organisers of the event that will be run under the theme “Raising the Bar”, gave us a call and took us through great new innovations for this year’s BTAs!

Hassan Ssentongo, the event coordinator told us that this time round, the event will be characterised by online gaming in what has been dubbed the Geeky Corner.
“We shall have online video gaming live on screens. Gamers will get the opportunity to play with their mates who are abroad or away from the event!”  The Geeky Corner will also have console video gaming on Play station 3 and XBox with games such as FIFA, SSX, Burn out and Call of duty among others.

How about the girls? Ssentongo says the girls will be availed with less complicated games such as Tekken, Racing and Tennis.
The event will also be streaming live on google+. “Teens will tweet or send whatsapp messages and the feed will be displayed on screens in the Geeky Corner.”
Ssentongo re-emphasised that the event is all about being hip and cool.
“Our aim is to give teenagers the best experience. We want them to interact as much as they can.’’
