The track : LOVE ME– VIBOYO

This song will nostalgically take you back to that song Nyumbani, nearly four years ago. When you remember that song, chances are that you will only remember the Weasel and Radio duo and not another artiste who actually featured the two on the song. Viboyo was outshined and that has probably been his career story.
And you think that a solo effort just may do him some good. He does just that with a new song, Love Me. It is a fine song that brings out some of Viboyo’s truest qualities but also exposes some of his production team’s weaknesses as well.

Viboyo is singing about love and romance and his theme is unconditional love, which does not change, regardless of season. It is delivered in rhythm and rhyme especially on lines of the verses. Viboyo seems to also have an ear for the mellow sound, evidence is in the song’s catchy chorus which will likely stick in your head long after the song stops playing.
The trouble however, is on the beats and production. The song’s riddim easily sounds like a South African facsimile, a Yvonne Chaka Chaka facsimile to be exact. It’s the song’s weak point that points to the possibility of a lack in creativity. Sorting out his production team will be Viboyo’s headache when he next goes to studio.
