The music video :Genda Ewamwe – MARO

This is a video of a lugambo infested Maro trying to spill the beans to the neighbour’s wife, advising her to quit the relationship because her husband is cheating. If this is Maro in real life, gossiping and advising wives to dump their husbands, then he is certainly not a good neighbour to have around one’s wife.
I enjoyed the part where he sings; “I tell you coz I love you too, I tell you coz I need you too.” At this point, the gate is opened and it’s the neighbour’s husband coming in.

The video, shot by JahLive is unblemished. The colour and lighting is the true definition of perfect. And the focus of the choreographed routine is Maro and the girl he is advising to leave. The close- up shots of the two characters makes one connect with the video.
My only complaint is the location. The video was shot at some apartments in Naalya, which was good, but why did they have to utilise the Naalya cemetery for the other shots. Is it because of its well landscaped gardens? Or perhaps there was a need for us to see that Ray Signature of Kasenyaku had featured in the video?  I like the signage of Vocal Police (Maro’s entertainment company), but it clearly plays no role in the video.

The video is so limited on location. Not one of those locations where you take time guessing the location and wishing to have your own video shot there. This makes the video monotonous and it somewhat looks like a Nigerian movie because of this static nature.
Well, I don’t know whether the girl put Maro’s advice into action. The video doesn’t clearly show that.  Genda Ewamwe is one video that makes you appreciate the quality of the visuals.  Nice video.
