For one, it is the one boot you can wear even in this super hot January weather without really suffering and without looking ridiculous. Okay I know I am gushing but it is because these boots are just the shoes everyone should go out and buy, in several colours. You can wear them with just about anything, skirt, dress, pants, shorts. Okay, maybe not a Gomesi or any traditional wear but pretty much anything else.
They are perfect with skinnies and a slouchy top or a dress top for a casual look. They can also work with short floral or printed dresses. Try the lace up ankle boots with shorts (fitted shorts with a turn up, not the super tight ones) with a flowy top (not a T-shirt).
They also work with those dresses you can wear to church or especially if they are peeptoe. And if you have a cardigan you want to work, then lace up ankle boots should be your partner in crime. Put the cardigan over a little dress and slap on the boots or over a skinnies and top ensemble and you are good to go.
