The best Exotic Marigold Hotel

All the stereotypes about Indians from their accent to the habit of nodding their heads frequently when speaking come to life in this movie. Given that Ugandans especially the comedians like to imitate them, it is hilarious to watch these scenes. The movie features among others Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and Dev Patel.

Parts of it will also remind you of Slum Dog Millionaire. It is not a Bollywood production, but it is based in India and tells a unique story about British retirees that decide to go to a hotel in India to unwind. They find the pictures on the brochures were photo shopped and the is hotel nothing like they expected. It doesn’t help that it is located in a crowded area.

But they decide to make the most of it and slowly tales of love – lost and found, newly found and completely lost unfold. Different with a unique plot and good acting – you will get all these in this movie. It is full of charm. Many lines will linger in your head way after watching it especially this one – “Everything will be alright in the end. If it is not alright then it is not the end.” It is an extraordinary movie.
