The movies showing at Cinema this Christmas are out and Rise of the Guardians is one to look out for if you are a fan of 3D animations. It will take you to fantasy land of a 200-year adventure story based on book series by American author William Joyce that shares a title with the movie.
Rise of the Guardians is an epic Christmas adventure that tells the story of a group of heroes – each with extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world.
Santa Claus alias North hears of Pitch’s threat and calls on fellow Guardians the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and the Sandman. He tells them about Frost, whom they need to enlist to stop Pitch from engulfing the world in darkness.
But Frost is not happy and matter as a matter of fact is frustrated by centuries of isolation caused by children’s disbelief in him, so he declines to join. Frost’s tales about how he came to be, hundreds of years ago, lifted from the ice by the “Man in the Moon”, though he remained invisible are not believed by people.
It’s up to the guardians to convince him to join them to fight the evil Pitch. The animation has received 73 per cent good reviews based on 131 reviews.
