The latest South African jazz sensation Zonke Dikanas is on her way to Kampala for a concert.
We understand that the Feelings singer together with a 10-man band from the rainbow nation is set to rock Emin Pasha hotel on November 23.
“I am very optimistic about Kampala and I can’t wait to go through a special experience with the people of Uganda,” she said. Zonke, whose concert is bankrolled by Tusker has been hailed for her music that goes to the heart, calms the mind and relaxes the body.
A couple of Ugandan jazz artistes are expected to give her a hand during her Kampala concert, which will run from 6pm to 10pm.
Zonke has been the voice on many house tracks and she has released albums overseas but her latest offering Ina Ethe is the most sucessful so far propelling her into continental limelight and earning her a couple of accolades.
The new album is indeed a far cry from the woman on her debut album Life, Love and Music, released in 2007 under the Kwaito label Kalawa Jazmee – which is home to artistes including Professor and Oskido.
