The music video: So Close By Angella Katatumba

Angella Katatumba

Angella Katatumba

There are some local music videos you’ll watch and wonder to yourself if thought was put into their concept. Then there are those music videos which you’ll want to watch on and on. So Close, Angella Katatumba’s latest song, is the kind you’ll want to watch.

It is directed by Frank Ja (Kasumba), director of Jahlive Beta who develops a good and creative concept, uses good colours and keeps it as lively as a pop song can be.

The music video was shot in two locations, at Sembule Steel Mills in Nalukolongo which gives the video a warehouse setting, and then at Jahlive studios along Salama road, off Entebbe road. Martin Muhumuza edited the movie and says the video was shot in one day.

So Close is a love song in which Katatumba sings her heart out about a guy she has admired from a distance and has strong feelings for. The idea is translated in the video were the singer demonstrates her lyrics of a woman in love with a man who she wishes she could get into her life.

Meanwhile the guy is his own world. The only time he appears close to Katatumba is at the tail end of the video, and just walks past her, leaving her in awe. So close was produced by Legend P, at Steve Jean’s Fenon Records and it was written by Angella Katatumba. On the whole, it is an enjoyable watch.
