As children, each of us had a wish we hoped could come true. You probably had this toy car that was so beautiful you wished it could turn into a real car. That’s what happens with John Bennet who has had this teddy bear for some time and when Christmas comes knocking, his wish is that his lonely life can be cheered up. He wishes that his teddy bear can come to life.
And God answers his prayer and to the amusement of everyone the toy bear miraculously comes to life. He is called Ted. Soon the news of the miracle spreads to different corners of his neighborhood and beyond. But that was back in 1985 and it is 2012 and Ted has turned out to be the bad companion. He is dirty, vulgar and obnoxious. But even then, friendship is thicker than booze so John is resistant to making his lifelong companion leave.
That is until he finds Ted at home with four prostitutes, one of whom has defecated on the floor during a game of Truth or Dare. How much would you go to keep a friend? Theirs is now being tested.
