Crackers move to clinch Dstv deal

Crackers Manager Jonathan Kyeyo is in South Africa at the invitation of Multichoice to discuss a deal that will see the Crackers’ weekly Mic Check comedy shows screened on DSTV. According to Kyeyo, discussions to conclude the deal were in final stages by press time.

Kyeyo, also told us that the deal will not affect the deal The Crackers have with NTV Uganda. If the deal is signed, the Crackers will be taking home several thousand dollars every month besides having a chance to be watched all over the continent. Looks like the guys are getting back home as most of their comedy careers began when they took part in M-Net’s Stand Up Uganda competition.

Meanwhile, the Crackers’ manager Kyeyo is taking his game across borders. The youthful Kyeyo is set to start an annual show dubbed Africa’s Battle of the Funniest, bringing the contintents funniest comedians to Kampala every year. He was in Nairobi over the weekend and he finalised a deal with top Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi, who also happens to be one of Africa’s most respected comedians.

Kyeyo will be Omondi’s sole representative and promoter in Uganda. As such Kyeyo has lined up Eric Omondi to take on our very own Patrick Idringi aka Salvado at the inaugural Africa’s Battle of the Funniest show that is slated for August 31 in Kampala. He has used his South African trip to also clinch a deal with South African comedian Loyiso Gola. Kyeyo is now also Gola’s representative in East Africa!
