HIGH LOW SKIRTS AND DRESSES: They may look like the wearer couldn’t decide between wearing a mini and a maxi because they are short in the front and long in the back, or like someone took scissors and cut the hemline carelessly, but we must admit hemlines do not get more fashionable than that.
The high low style is trendy, and anyone who has the fashion guts and well wears skirts and dresses can pull it off. We are yet to see any high low pants or shorts. The style can be high in the front and low in the back, or low on both but high in the middle. It can even be asymmetrical; high on one side and low on the other.
That said, the high low trend is more befitting for casual occasions, or semi-formal, what with the full flowy characteristic of most high lows, but designers are pushing the envelope and you could easily find a formal evening dress in this style.
I would think the high low will be the perfect style for someone who wants to wear something short but feels they really do not have the legs to show, or wants something long but are not too crazy about full length. But even anyone with a daring spirit can wear it.
So how do you wear this trend? Depending on the high low; is it a high low summer dress, evening dress, or a line skirt? For a more casual look, a pair of cute sandals will do just fine, and if you want to dress it up, put on some heels. That your footwear stands out is of utmost importance, though, because the high low looks more like moving a curtain away to give a peek. Let the peek on your footwear be worth it.
Cute cropped jackets work very well with high low styles.
