This one is for guilty pleasure just. It is not a very good song, and there is even the very strong possibility that elements of its beats and tune were copied and pasted off a Nigerian song Me and U by Bracket. But it has that very annoying ability to refuse to die, obstinately humming away in your ear’s drum like a computer virus.
In truth, Ray Big Tym does a number of Toniks facsimiles on the song, like on the introduction, other animations on the song, and his voice’s intonation. He has been doing some imitation lessons, maybe.
He sings about a girl who deserted him for a rich fellow, and is asking her to stay away with those who she ran to; just like Maurice Kirya sang on Beera Naabo. That is three different artistes contributing to this song by proxy. Wow!
We are Ugandans here. Most of us will not care whether a song is a photocopy or not, as long as it serves the right purposes. And you can bet, Kasenyanku does for many fans out there. Ray Big Tym somehow manages to keep you interested, even dancing, with this song. Its beat and yes, melody, is harmonious, supported by somewhat smooth vocals. It should not really struggle to impress in these parts.
