That headline is not a joke, by the way. Taurus Group, who are the organisers of Kenya’s comedy festival called A Nite of a Thousand Laughs, have lined up American comedian Chris Rock for this year’s show in Nairobi. The show is taking place at the beginning of May and the comedy heavyweight is set to headline the feat that will feature many other comedians from around Africa.
A couple of Ugandan comedians have been contacted to appear at the show which had our own Pablo last year. Nigeria’s Basket Mouth has also confirmed his attendance and the house is expected to be filled with “total silliness” when the best of African comedy meets with one of the greatest comedians of all time. We feel tempted to go and attend, how about you?
