Date with a celeb: Rogers Katumba meets Fun Factory’s Frobisher

(Frobisher aka Frob invited Rogers to National Theatre for an afternoon full of laughter, jokes and just chilling)

Good afternoon Frob.
Afternoon to you too.

I’m Rogers Katumba from St Thomas SSS Kawempe, is Frob your real name?
I’m Frobisher Lwanga, Frob stands for Fresh Off The Bus.

By the way I love your goatee.
Thank you.

For how long have you maintained it?
Well ever since the hairs started sprouting out!

I love your character in Makutano Junction, it kills me!
Hehe…thank you.

Are there other projects like Makutano that you are working on besides acting with Fun Factory?
Oh yes, but still in the production stages. They are about four, so watch this space.

Are you into gadgets or obsessed with anything? Maybe rides?
Definitely. I’m into Motorola phones, my laptop a Macbook Pro (for editing) and cameras because I like film production. Also I love my cars particularly BMW, if that is considered a gadget … but I guess a car is a gadget for men.

Where do you come from?
Mpigi, Buwaya.

Your nose doesn’t look like a Ganda-one. So are you seeing someone or are you married to comedy?
Tough one to answer because all the chicks will run away from me … (No just playing), but I have two lovely and adorable kids. For now I am married to the industry because I have to get the bread and cheese.

Eeh, so the bu chicks backstage are keeping you occupied?
The bu chicks backstage are not really a problem because a fan will always be a fan and as such I treat them that way. Also, work comes first.

I am really funny too you know, I guess I will be competition.
Oh really, I have heard those words several times, but my advice to you is that if you really feel you can do it, then nobody should tell you otherwise. You could be the next big thing.

So who is your competition individually?
I am not going to say an individual per say, but everyone in the industry has a different flare that they bring to it. Much as competition is good, to me it’s the dynamics I can learn from every single person I work with.

(Katumba thinks Frobisher is naturally funny, witty, very outgoing and doesn’t brag like most celebs.)
