Judy Boucher, for those who were at the top of their love game in the 1990s, means the woman who did the love songs that helped them easily get into the hearts of their would-be partners… I mean, who didn’t dedicate Tears on my Pillow, I Dream of a Little Island and Can’t Be with You Tonight to their fantasy lover in the 90s?
The good news is that Boucher will be travelling to Uganda for two shows in Kampala come August. One show will be a VIP setting at Kampala Serena Hotel on August 10 before the general mega show at Lugogo Cricket Oval the following night.
The guys behind the two shows are called BIK, the very music promotions company that sold the UB40 deal to MTN. Isaac Kisira of BIK says ticket prices and other details of the show will be communicated later.
Boucher comes from St Vincent in the Caribbean but she moved to High Wycombe, England in the 1970s. After joining her brother’s band, Judy Jack and the Beanstalk, she became a solo artiste and had a No. 1 hit in the reggae charts with Dreaming of A Little Island in 1985. Her subsequent works also hit the charts around the world.
