Seems Michael Kiwanuka has got the whole globe in his hands now… Tom Lamont of UK’s Guardian newspaper was quoted saying that the UK-based artiste of Ugandan origin had told him he is set for duets with world music rulers Jay-Z and Adele.
Jay-Z reportedly heard Kiwanuka’s music from a friend’s car in New York and the man regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time demanded that the friend fixes him an appointment with Kiwanuka.
Kiwanuka is set to fly to the US after his UK tour next month and he will also meet up with British sensation Adele. Last year Kiwanuka toured on Adele’s undercard for a month and he says, “I watched closely how Adele did things. It’s exciting to continue working with an exceptional talent like her.”
On the task of having to record with big names just weeks into stardom Kiwanuka, who is a Tottenham Hotspur fan said: “If you’re training to be a footballer when you’re a little boy, you don’t wanna say, yeah, I’ll take division three. If someone’s giving you a shot in the Premier League you’re gonna go. Right?
If someone asks you to take a penalty in the last minute of the World Cup final, you’re gonna take the penalty – even though there’s a chance you might miss. You’re gonna wanna try. So that’s how I see all this. It might be horrible. I don’t think it will, but it might be. But I’m not gonna say no because of that risk.” Go, Kiwa!
