YES MAN
Based on a book Yes Man by Danny Wallace, Yes Man the movie is a comedy, and a nice one at that. So imagine what life would be like if you say yes to everything in your life? Divorced banker Carl (Jim Carrey) is depressed and negative about life, he just can‘t stop thinking about his ex-wife.
Out of office he avoids his friends and hangs alone watching DVD after another. Then his friend Nick (John Michael Higgins) takes him to a Yes! Seminar. At the seminar he is taught to say yes to everything so as to change his life and forget about his divorce.
So to a homeless filthy guy who needs a ride, an 80-year-old’s sexual advances, a fight with a mugged up guy, flying lessons, to a promotion, he has to say yes. There are too many bad or uncomfortable things that one would ideally say no to but Carl can’t and that’s what makes the movie funny.
