When you win an award, you always want to celebrate and nobody knows how to throw a soiree quite like Maurice Kiirya.
The soul singer was chosen winner of the 2010 RFI Prix Découvertes Award and so it’s no wonder that he is calling upon his family, friends and well-wishers to dust their frocks for one big party scheduled for next week. After deliberation from a jury presided by the Franco-Congolese rapper, Passi, Kirya emerged the winner beating Kenya’s Winyo and Lexxus Legal of DRC. Now, the Ugandan chap will play at a concert organised by RFI due to take place in N’Djamena, Chad on November 6 plus a fully paid for band tour of France besides pocketing prize money of over 100,000 Euros around (Shs300m).
With that money, trust Kirya to be able to throw any kind of party he wants in Kampala. And we’ll all be there to schmooze, booze and watch a fantastic live performance by Maurice himself. Join us on Facebook for party planning…
