The alleged relationship between singer Sasha Brighton and socialite Herbert Shonga has given the public enough fodder for gossip but the two don’t seem to care.
On Monday, they shared a teaser to Sasha’s new music video and guess who the singer’s love interest in the video is….. Mr Herbert Shonga, formally married to Dorothy Shonga.
However, Herbert has denied any romantic connection with Sasha saying that what they have is more of a business arrangement.
He revealed that Sasha paid him Shs3.5 million to feature in the Manyi Gange video and they are not in love as it is reported. He said that he is free and can do anything as long there is payment.

“I am a free person, as long as money is there. If someone calls me asking to feature in their video, I just send them my manager. I tell him to tell them to send me 1000 dollars and if that is done I go to the video. Even the Shs3.5 million that Sasha Brighton paid me I took it and it’s going to do work for me in Mayuge,” Shonga said in an interview on Spark TV’s Live wire show.
But Shonga and Sasha have been spotted together even before the video which is why many doubt that this was only about a music video.
He defends himself saying that he is only supporting Sasha’s music career.
“Sasha Brighton is a talented girl and I am some one that supports talent especially in Uganda. In 2017, I put more money than anyone in these entertainment shows. In 2018, I experienced some financial difficulties but in 2019 I am bouncing back. So first am supporting Sasha Brighton for her talent, just to help her in her music career,” Shonga said.

Online in-laws are not buying this explanation saying that it doesn’t add up. A one Patience Pattie pointed out the discrepancies in his statements.
“Hehehehe we all know Sasha can’t afford that amount, atte mbu yo sponsoring her, atte mbu she paid u………….Shonga bring back our (his ex-wife’s) cars,” she commented.
Herbert however maintains that he is single and has no plans to date any one at the moment.
“I am single at the moment because I believe it takes time. There is no one in my life right now.”
