Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has said that police in Jinja District have raided a hotel he had booked into in search of him.

Earlier in the evening Police had blocked a show he was supposed to hold at Queen’s Place, a popular bar in Jinja town. Artistes including Sheebah Karungi, Gravity Omutujju and Nubian Lee were scheduled to perform.

Bobi Wine posted on social media: “So police has raided City Hotel in Jinja town where we were resting ahead of the show tonight. They arrested many of our team members. As we speak, the police is surrounding the entire neighborhood looking for me everywhere! What offence? For showing up to perform at a show which they themselves cleared! We arrived in Jinja in broad daylight to a massive and peaceful reception by our friend here. I wonder why police waited for darkness to fall before starting to carry out these evil plans! We shall overcome!”

By press time, Police had not yet found the singer-turned-politician.

This comes just a few days after Bobi Wine during an interview on one of the local TV stations said that the police are targeting him as an individual because as other artistes are working in this period, he’s suffering. He added that the government is making sure he runs broke, which is so wrong according to the constitution.
