VIDEO: UCU student changes plea after watching her porn video in court

A Uganda Christian University (UCU) student who was on Monday convicted before Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s court on ten counts of procuring and broadcasting pornographic material has changed her guilty plea to not guilty.

This is after 23-year-old Lillian Rukundo who was awaiting a sentence together with the presiding chief magistrate, Ms Mary Babirye and the state prosecutor Emily Ninsiima watched a video of herself her sex video in court.
Prosecutions told court that Rukundo in 2017 while in her hostel in Mukono District produced a video of herself masturbating and shared it through social media for purposes of sexually arousing whoever watched it.

Rukundo also pleaded guilty to publishing pictures of her naked body from the breast to the knees.
The chief magistrate, Ms Mary Babirye remanded her to Luzira Prison pending hearing of her case.
Rukundo’s luck ran out last month when a whistleblower tipped the Pornographic Control Committee that was inaugurated by the Ethics and Integrity minister, Mr Simon Lokodo.

This therefore means court will have to spend more time and resources hearing Rukundo’s case. If found guilty, Rukundo faces a maximumsentence of 10 years in prison or a fine of Shs10 million.
Her case comes just days after the same court recently convicted and sentenced a 25-year-old love-struck student to two years for stalking a female Member of Parliament.
Brian Isiko, a student at YMCA Jinja Branch was last Thursday convicted on his own plea of guilty to counts of cyber harassment and offensive communication.
