Barbie and Bobi
Over the weekend, singer Bobi Wine announced the cancellation of his shows in the US. The singer failed to fly to America after flights passing through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport were cancelled, due to a fire that gutted East Africa’s busiest airport.
But a few days before, Bobi was named the celebrity endorser for the annual Kampala City Festival due on October 6. Bobi’s new role shocked everyone and the photo of Bobi and KCCA Executive Director Ms Jennifer Musisi was superb news. Bobi made headlines last year when he released a song titled Tugambire Ku Jennifer, in which he attacked Musisi’s “harsh” approach towards developing the city. Musisi was not happy about the song but she turned a deaf ear. Now the two might dance to the same song come October 6.
But what we write and what you have probably watched on Bobi’s reality TV show, is all you know about Bobi Wine.
But here is a chance for all music lovers and Bobi fans to know who he really is, and no one can tell the story better than Barbara Kyagulanyi aka Barbie, Bobi’s better half, love, wife and the mother of his children. She is set to write a book about her husband title Bobi Wine through My Eyes, which will be out next year.
Barbie posted on her Facebook wall. “I have been tasked to author his (Bobi’s) biography and I am so honoured to present to you Bobi Wine Through My Eyes come 2014.”
